Mary Stinson, LPC

Owner, Sage Counseling Center

Mary Stinson is a holistic, integrative behavioral health practitioner.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in the treatment of Trauma, Grief, & Loss.  Mary has decades of experience as a behavioral health professional, beginning her career as a Hospice bereavement counselor in 1997, and obtaining her master's degree in 2009 with an emphasis in Trauma, Grief & Loss.  She has a passion for helping to educate and liberate people from the root cause of their symptoms and end the cycle of repeating the same painful patterns.

Mary offers a non-pathologizing and strength-affirming approach to treatment. She uses the latest brain research to describe the neurochemical processes that drive our feelings, impulses, and behaviors.  She explains treatment interventions to her clients and fosters a “team” approach to meeting their needs.  This collaboration is empowering for clients, and fosters greater trust, transparency, and improved outcomes.

Mary welcomes the opportunity to incorporate spiritual & religious values in the counseling process when initiated by the client.  She is a Christian who honors the individual viewpoints and beliefs held by others. She has observed that personal growth often involves aspects of spiritual growth, and that to grow spiritually we must also grow emotionally.

Regardless of your past or current circumstances, you can lead a life worth living when given the right support at the right time. Seeing a behavioral health provider should be as logical and commonplace as going to the doctor when you have cold or flu symptoms.

You’re worth it!
